E-Commerce and Logistics: The Backbone of America

Workers in a modern warehouse moving packages
E-commerce Logistics
I started driving for a delivery company just to make ends meet while I was in college. I never imagined it would turn into a career. But with the explosion of e-commerce, logistics has become one of the largest employers in the country. It’s not just about driving trucks anymore, though there’s a massive shortage of CDL drivers that’s driving up salaries. There are opportunities in warehouse management, supply chain analytics, inventory control, and last-mile delivery optimization. I’m now a regional operations manager, overseeing several fulfillment centers. It’s a fast-paced, data-driven environment. If you’re someone who likes efficiency and problem-solving, this field is for you. The hours can be long, especially during peak seasons, but the stability is unmatched. As long as people are ordering things online, we need people to move those products. Amazon, Walmart, and FedEx are constantly hiring, but don’t overlook smaller, regional logistics companies that often offer better work-life balance.
