Why China’s Economy Is Slowing Down (And India’s Isn’t)

Factory workers in India and China
Economic Growth Comparison
I’ve been following economic news for years, and one thing is clear: the China dream is facing a reality check.

Real estate crisis. Youth unemployment. Trade wars with the US. And now, foreign companies quietly moving their factories to Vietnam, Mexico, and yes—India.

Don’t get me wrong. China is still a beast. They make everything from iPhones to electric cars. But the easy growth is over. You can’t build 10 new cities every year forever.

India, meanwhile, is just getting started. Their digital payment system? Better than China’s. Their startup ecosystem? Third largest in the world. And global companies are desperate for a ‘China plus one’ strategy. That plus one is often India.

But here’s the problem India faces: red tape. Bureaucracy. Slow courts. And a government that sometimes loves announcing projects more than finishing them.

Still, if I had to bet on the next decade? India has more room to run. China is already near the top of the mountain. India is still climbing the hill.
