Why You Should Visit the US National Parks in Winter

Winter Wonderland
Most people think of national parks as summer destinations. But winter transforms them into silent wonderlands. I went to Yellowstone in February once, and instead of traffic jams, I saw bison walking down the middle of the snow-covered roads. It was magical. You do need to prepare—some roads close, and you might need snowshoes or cross-country skis. But the lack of crowds makes it worth it. Seeing Old Faithful erupt with snow on the ground and no one else around feels like having the whole planet to yourself. Just rent a 4x4 vehicle and check the park’s winter website before you go.
