When Stack Overflow Is Down: A Developer’s Existential Crisis

Developer Dependency on Stack Overflow
Remember that day Stack Overflow went down for a few hours? I do. It was a Tuesday. The office was quiet, except for the sound of productivity grinding to a halt. I was trying to debug a weird React hook issue, and I realized I had no backup plan. I had to actually... think? Read the documentation? It was horrifying. It made me realize how reliant I’d become on copy-pasting solutions without truly understanding them. Now, I try to use Stack Overflow as a learning tool, not a crutch. I still use it every day, but when it’s down, I don’t panic anymore. I just take a deep breath and open the official docs. Mostly.
