AI Environmental Impact
We talk a lot about how cool AI is, but rarely about the energy it consumes. Running large language models and AI agents takes massive data centers that guzzle water and electricity. I’m not saying we should stop using them, but I think we need to be aware. I try to use smaller, more efficient models when possible, and I run local agents to reduce the cloud load. It’s a trade-off. Innovation is great, but not if we burn the planet down to summarize a few emails.
