Pathaan Movie Review
Pathaan arrived at a time when Bollywood desperately needed a blockbuster, and it delivered beyond expectations. Siddharth Anand's spy thriller, part of YRF's Spy Universe, brought Shah Rukh Khan back to the big screen after a four-year hiatus. The film is a slick, globe-trotting action extravaganza that never takes itself too seriously. SRK as Pathaan is charismatic—he's suave, witty, and still commands the screen with effortless charm. Deepika Padukone as Rubina is more than just a love interest; she's a capable agent with her own agenda. John Abraham as the villain Jim is menacing and physically imposing. The action sequences are where the film shines—the ice-fight sequence and the climax on a moving train are expertly choreographed. The cameo by Salman Khan as Tiger had audiences cheering in theaters. The film's self-awareness about being a masala entertainer works in its favor. It's not trying to be realistic; it's trying to be fun, and it succeeds spectacularly. The soundtrack, especially "Besharam Rang," was controversial but undeniably catchy. Pathaan is streaming on Amazon Prime Video. If you don't have a subscription, you can watch it through Prime Video's rental option at a nominal fee. Some DTH services offer rental options as well. For a truly free experience, check if your local library has a DVD lending program or if any family-friendly screenings are happening in your community.
