My First Month on GCP: A Complete Beginner's Journey

A Beginner's GCP Journey
I came into GCP knowing nothing. No cloud experience. No infrastructure background. Just a developer who wanted to deploy an app. Month one was chaotic. I created projects, deleted them, got confused by service accounts, accidentally exposed an API key (don't do that), and got my first bill. But I also deployed my first app on Cloud Run. I set up a Firestore database. I added authentication with Firebase Auth. By the end of the month, my app was live, it was secure, and it cost me $1.20. The learning curve felt steep at first. But GCP has something that helped me: the free tier, the documentation with actual examples, and the Qwiklabs hands-on tutorials. I did a few of those, and suddenly things clicked. If you're starting your cloud journey, GCP is a great place to begin. The complexity is manageable, the community is helpful, and you won't go broke learning.
