Microsoft's Windows 11 Demands Are Leaving Millions of Computers Behind

Windows 11 Compatibility
Windows 11 requires TPM 2.0. That is a security chip. Most computers from before 2018 do not have it. Microsoft says it is for your safety. Critics say it is planned obsolescence.

Millions of perfectly good computers cannot upgrade to Windows 11. They run Windows 10 until 2025. Then they become e-waste. Or they switch to Linux. Or they pay for extended security updates.

Microsoft is not wrong about security. Older computers are vulnerable. But forcing upgrades creates waste. And it hurts poor people who cannot buy new computers. The environment suffers too.

For beginners, check your computer's compatibility before panicking. If you have a 2019 or newer model, you are probably fine. If not, consider Linux. It runs well on old hardware. And it is free. Microsoft wants you to buy a new PC. You do not have to.
