I Built a $10 Million App Idea on GCP for $3.42

Building a Startup on a Budget
I had this app idea. A travel planner that uses AI to generate itineraries. Big dreams, no money. I decided to build it on Google Cloud. I used Cloud Run for the API—scale to zero means I pay nothing when no one's using it. Firestore for the database—generous free tier. Cloud Storage for images. Cloud Functions for background tasks. And Vertex AI for the Gemini model calls. I launched, got a few beta users, and at the end of the month, my bill was $3.42. That's less than a coffee. Did the app become a million-dollar business? Not yet. But I proved I could build something scalable without a venture capital budget. The beauty of GCP is that you start small and pay only for what you use. My app is ready to handle millions of users. It just needs to find them first.
