How to Study for INICET Without Losing Your Mind (And Which Colleges Give Best Benefits)
Studying for INICET is not about studying 14 hours a day. It's about studying the right topics again and again. Focus on previous year questions – they repeat patterns. Use standard books like Harrison for medicine, Bailey for surgery, but also solve at least 15,000 MCQs before exam day. Make a timetable: 4 hours morning for new topics, 2 hours afternoon for revision, and 2 hours night for mock tests. Sundays only for weak subjects. Join a test series – any decent one works, but don't join five. Now about colleges: AIIMS Delhi, AIIMS Jodhpur, AIIMS Bhopal, PGIMER Chandigarh, JIPMER Puducherry, and NIMHANS Bangalore take INICET scores. Benefits? Stipend around ₹80,000-1,00,000 per month during residency. Free or cheap hostel. Exposure to rare cases. Better chances of DM/MCh later. Also, many state governments give extra marks for INICET rank holders if you apply for state quota later. So even if you don't get your dream college, a good rank opens doors. Start slow, revise daily, sleep 7 hours, and avoid YouTube distractions. You've got this.
