FFMG Basics
FFMG Exam Full Form, Dates & Eligibility – What Every Indian FMG Must Know First
FFMG stands for Foreign Medical Graduate Examination. It's the test you have to clear if you studied MBBS outside India and want to practice here. The exam happens twice a year – usually in June and December. The application form comes out around April for June session and October for December session. You need to have your MBBS degree, internship completion certificate, and passport from the country where you studied. Also mandatory – you must clear FMGE (which is the screening test) before you can even think of FFMG. But wait, FFMG is actually often confused with FMGE. Let me clear it: FMGE is the screening test. After clearing FMGE, some states or colleges ask for an additional FFMG-style qualifying exam. Confirm with your target state medical council first. The fee is around ₹5500. Fill the form online on the NMC or state medical council website. Don't skip reading instructions – many FMGs get rejected because of photo size or signature mismatch. Mark the dates on your phone right now. Missing a deadline means waiting another six months. And six months is a long time when you're already behind your Indian batchmates.
