AWS Shield: Built-in DDoS Protection

AWS Shield is a managed DDoS protection service that comes automatically with AWS. Shield Standard protects all AWS customers at no extra cost against common network and transport layer attacks. When I started hosting websites on AWS, knowing that basic protection was included gave me confidence. For higher protection against application layer attacks, there's Shield Advanced. It's one of those services you don't notice until an attack happens, and then you're grateful it's there.
