Ant-Man and the Wasp Review
Ant-Man and the Wasp arrived after the devastating Infinity War, offering a lighter, smaller-scale adventure. Peyton Reed returns, expanding the focus to include Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) as the Wasp, who finally gets her due as a co-lead. The film follows Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) under house arrest as he helps Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Hope rescue Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) from the Quantum Realm. The action is inventive, particularly the car chase with size-changing vehicles. The film's villain (Walton Goggins's Sonny Burch) is forgettable, but the emotional core—family reunification—works. The film also introduced Hannah John-Kamen's Ghost, a sympathetic antagonist. The post-credits scene, showing Scott trapped in the Quantum Realm while the Snap occurs, is a gut punch. Ant-Man and the Wasp is a fun, low-stakes adventure that serves as a breather before Endgame. Ant-Man and the Wasp is available on Disney+ Hotstar. For free viewing, many mobile plans include Disney+. Digital rentals are available on YouTube Movies and Apple TV. The film is also broadcast on television channels.
